Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco (born Angela Maria Ani DiFranco) is a American and Canadian artist and singer. She has produced over 20 albums of studio work. DiFranco classifies her music under the terms folk-rock and alternative. But it includes influences like punk, hip-hop, and jazz. Ani Difranco is widely recognized as an icon of feminist music. In 1990, she was among the first to establish her own record label. DiFranco was born on September 23, 1970 in the city of Buffalo in New York. She is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), who was introduced to Dante Americo DiFranco while studying at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father was of Italian descent and her mother was originally from Montreal. Ani diFranco was the composer and singer of the track 32 Flavors. The song is from her 1995 album Not a Pretty Girl, which was DiFranco's sixth studio album. This song appears on the film's soundtrack the Canadian romance film Better Than Chocolate from 1999. DiFranco has since apologized when it was discovered that she had planned to host a 3-day workshop on an Louisiana former slave plantation. While she had to cancel the workshop however, a lot of people (including our own paper) didn't feel any regret. DiFranco issued an additional apology just a few weeks following.
